- Innerspring Mattresses
This is the mattress that dominant today’s market. It represents about 70% of the market. Unlike other types of mattresses, it is constructed by coil springs mainly for the support purposes. - Memory Foam Mattresses
Memory foam is my personal favorite. Comparing to the innerspring mattress, it is relatively new but has quickly gained market share in recent years. You will often see the word "melting" along with this type of mattress. It slowly forms itself to the shape of your body overtime. - Latex Mattress
Latex mattress has been around for decades. Just like memory foam mattress, it is still a hot product in the industry. Latex was actually natural rubber that was made of the sap of trees. Almost of the latex mattresses today is made by the so called synthetic latex or a combination of synthetic and natural latex. A few years ago, air mattresses are considered to be cheap and are mainly used for holidays and houseguest. Nowadays, there are high-end air mattresses that use air instead of coils. Comparing to other types, you can easily adjust the firmness of the mattress by adjusting the amount of air in the mattress.
