ZZZ Mattress Discounter is probably the "smallest" online mattress store. Yes, unlike many other mattress stores that employs sales, marketing and accounting staff, ZZZ Mattress Discounter has only two partners. At ZZZ Mattress, one owner takes care of web design, marketing and accounting while the other owner focus on sales.

Before we start this online business, we once were confused as well by so many different choices available. Everyone wants to buy "good" mattresses because they all know how important sleeping is. Once being a student, I just cannot afford to buy a mattress that worth more than $1000. We are in the business today because we know there are still many customers who are looking for the right mattress at the right price. We started researching the mattress industry a year ago and until earlier this year, my other partner's father was telling us about selling mattresses. My first response is: "But there are already many mattress retailers and online stores such as sleep country Canada." Why would people buy from us? After spending the entire week drawing the business plan, I finally convinced myself, yes, we will win the market because we can provide the mattress at the best price possible. The main cost saving measure is due to the fact that:

• We have no employees at all and therefore we do not pay wages and benefits
• We do not rent showrooms and therefore we save on monthly rent and other bills such as hydro. However, this does not mean customers cannot actually try the mattress. We are a home-based business and local customers can still come and try the mattress in person.
• We import the goods directly from the manufacturer and the manufacture give us the best price despite the ordering volume because of the "guan xi", or in English - good relationship
• We get the best freight rate because my other partner's father owns the freight company and he almost makes nothing delivering the mattress to us
